Holy Land Fine Arts: Mold Your Experience

From Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, not a minute of your Fine Arts visit will be wasted! This is an 11 day Fine Arts experience that will be filled with locations and monuments very important to the Holy Land. We’ll visit the Israeli Museum, the Rockefeller Museum, World Heritage sites and Tel Dan; an archaeological site. One day we’ll be tasting the fine wine at Golan Winery and the next day traveling to Haifa Bay and Baha’i Gardens.

Day 1: Arrival – Jerusalem 1

Today we’ll arrive to Ben Gurion Airport and ride to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

*Transfer by private vehicle with driver and guide

*After collecting your luggage and passing through immigration and customs, you will be met by our representative, who will be holding a board with the group name on it. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where your representative will help you check in. This is a journey of around 60 minutes.        

Day 2: Jerusalem – Mount of Olives – Old City – Bible Lands Museum 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, we start our day by ascending to the Mount of Olives and have a panoramic view for the old city of Jerusalem.

Afterwards, we’ll travel to Jaffa Gate and have a rampart walk.

We’ll continue to the quarters inside the walls of Jerusalem and visit Dome of the Rock, Western Wall and Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

We’ll then ride to the Bible Lands Museum, an archaeological museum in Jerusalem, Israel. This explores the culture of the peoples mentioned in the Bible, among them the ancient Egyptians, Canaanites, Philistines, Arameans, Hittites, Elamites, Phoenicians and Persians.

At the end of our day we have dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Yad Vashem – Knesset – Hebrew University 3

Following breakfast, we go to visit Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust.

We’ll continue to visit the Israeli Museum, the largest cultural institution in the country and it’s ranked among the world’s leading art and archaeology museums. Founded in 1965, the Museum houses encyclopedic collections. This includes works dating from prehistory to the present day, in its Archaeology, Fine Arts, Jewish Art and Life Wings, and features the most extensive holdings of biblical and Holy Land archaeology in the world.

We’ll proceed to visit the Knesset (Israel’s parliament building) and the Hebrew University.

At the end of our day we have dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Rockefeller Museum – Bethlehem – Herodion – Solomon’s Pools 4

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll explore the Rockefeller Museum; an archaeological museum located in East Jerusalem. This houses a large collection of artifacts unearthed in the excavations conducted in Mandate Palestine; in the 1920s and 1930s.

We’ll travel to Bethlehem and visit the Nativity Church, the greatest buildings of its era and probably the oldest church in continuous use for Christian worship.

We’ll continue to tour Herodium, a cone-shaped hill that consist of a fortress, a palace, and a small town that was built by Herod the Great.

 Afterwards we’ll journey to Solomon’s Pools; three ancient reservoirs that used to be part of a waterway supplying Bethlehem and Jerusalem with water.

At the end of the day, we drive back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Battir (UNESCO) – Hebron – Tomb of the Patriarchs – Pottery & Glass Factories 5

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll ride to Battir; a world Heritage Site. There we’ll explore ancient terraces, archaeological sites, rock-cut tombs, agricultural towers, and most importantly an intact water system. This is water system is represented by a collection roman pool and channels.

We’ll continue to Hebron visiting the Old City and Tomb of the Patriarchs. This tomb is a shrine complex built mainly under Herod (1st century BC) with additions by the Crusaders (12th century AD). It centers on the Cave of Machpelah. This cave is an ancient double cave revered since at least 1000 BC as the burial site of the Hebrew patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their wives.

Afterwards, we’ll tour a pottery and glass factory to see how items are shaped and finalized.

We end our day by driving back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Jericho – Qumran – Masada – Dead Sea 6

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll travel to Jericho and visit Tel Es-Sultan (UNESCO World Heritage Site); the lowest and oldest town on earth. Archaeological excavations carried out in the mid-20th century evidenced 23 layers of ancient civilizations at the site.

We’ll continue to visit Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found in 1947 by a Bedouin.

From there, we’ll ride south and ascend by the cable car to visit Masada. This is a very impressive site and the last stronghold of the Jews after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D.

Afterwards, we’ll have an opportunity to float on the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth and a natural health spa.

At the end of our day we’ll drive back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Tel Aviv – Museum of Art – Jaffa – Caesarea – Megiddo – Tiberias 7

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll travel for a city tour in Tel Aviv and visit the Museum of Art.

We’ll continue on to Old Jaffa: an 8000-year-old port city to visit the ancient ruins and walk along the restored artists’ quarter.

We’ll travel along the coastal plain to Caesarea; capital of Judea during the Roman period.

Then we’ll admire the excavations of the Crusader city and the Roman port. As well as the aqueduct and amphitheater that has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue.

We’ll then proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon and explore the archaeological excavations including the preserved water supply system.

At the end of our day we’ll drive to Tiberias for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Sea of Galilee – Boat Ride – Golan Heights – Golan Winery 8

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll journey to Kibbutz Ginosar to view an ancient boat that is dated to the First Century BCE. The discovery of the boat rocked the archeological and spiritual world because never before was such an ancient vessel found so complete.

Afterwards, we’ll ride in a wooden boat on the Sea of Galilee.

Travelling north to the Golan Heights we’ll venture to Tel Dan; it belonged to the Tribe of Dan. It is one of the most important archeological sites in the country as excavations there revealed a stone inscription that says “House of David”.

We’ll head to the Golan Winery for a tour and wine tasting.

Then we’ll venture to Caesarea Philippi; an ancient Roman city located at the southwestern base of Mount Hermon, adjacent to a spring, grotto and different shrines.

On our way back to Tiberias, we’ll stop to see the former Syrian bunkers.

We end our day with dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Rosh Hanikra – Akko – Haifa – Tel Aviv 9

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll journey on to visit Rosh Hanikra and ascend by the cable car to visit the grottos. They are cavernous tunnels formed by sea action on the soft chalk rock.

We’ll continue to Akko; there we’ll visit the Old City, the Crusader Fortress and the Bazaar.

Continuing to Mount Carmel, we’ll have a panoramic view of Haifa Bay and the beautiful Baha’i Gardens.

At the end of our day we’ll drive to Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Day at Leisure 10

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll enjoy a full day at leisure by the beach in Tel Aviv.

We end our day with dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Departure 11

Following breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be transferred to Ben Gurion Airport for departure.
